As a beginner handbag collector, I found this book to be an excellent reference. The book is well organized. The history of handbags is interesting and relevant. The many photographs are clear and there are vintage ads which show the items being described. Special chapters on mesh and beaded bags are very thorough. Three chapters show handbags from the 1930's 40's and 50's. Twenty nine pages at the end show vintage advertisements, always a good source in dating items. Very pleased with my purchase. Money well spent.
